Baby Updates: September

The beginning of my 3rd trimester started on September 5th. As expected, I've been feeling very tired, and it's been difficult to slow down my usual 100mph speed. However, I'm glad to keep busy with knitting and other little nesting activities!

Joe has been so wonderful with taking on the extra responsibilities around the house (and constantly demanding that I go sit down and rest!).

Lots of baby kicks/arm movements/rolling going on towards the end of last month and this month. She's definitely working on her dancing skills! (Joe says she's working on her physics experiments).

Knit baby girl blanket finished. 30"x30" and made with an 80% cotton, 20% wool yarn so that we can easily machine wash/dry. I also learned how to add little hand-sewn daisies into the corner for a little extra girlie touch!

Baby bump photo at 27 weeks (29 Aug - 4 Sep). We had the wonderful opportunity to go camping at Julia Pheiffer Burns State Park in Big Sur, CA. I was so happy I was still feeling good enough to go! It was a wonderful time spent with great friends.

29 Week baby bump. Still (barely) fitting into my favorite Denver Broncos hoodie!

And...Me with the sweet kittens Sophia and Finnegan. They just keep making us laugh and smile!

We just bought our first two outfits for baby girl Liles.  I am loving TJ Maxx and Marshalls for baby clothes! I bought them in the 6-9 month size, because I have a feeling she is going to be a tall girl...and she will also have some room to grow into them.

Both outfits look and feel so comfortable, I wish they made them in adult sizes!

Newest finished knitting project. A little cabled beanie!

Finished kitten and baby Christmas stockings! Sewn from double sided quilted fabric. Shown here all together with Joe's and my existing stockings. And yes, our baby girl's name will be Isabelle! Named after my great grandmother, Isabelle Diehl.

Another little craft for baby Isabelle's room. I made these name blocks out of wooden letters and blocks I found at Michaels. I painted the blocks and letters, and then used Mod Podge to glue the scrapbook paper I picked out onto the blocks. I finished by hot gluing the letters to the blocks. This is a great, cute little addition to her room!

16 September: we went for a checkup ultrasound, and got this cute little photo of Isabelle. She is a healthy 3.5 pounds and had a strong heartbeat of 151 bpm! I love this photo, because it looks like she is smiling. The tech was trying to get a photo of her without her hand in front of part of her face, but she was being stubborn. I love it!

Other news: We are planning on having a sweet friend/photographer take some maternity photos for us towards the end of this month or early October. She is so talented, and we are looking forward to having some professional photos taken to document this wonderful time!

My sweet husband is working on planning and organizing a small, relaxed, co-ed baby shower/barbeque ("BaBy-Q") in early October for me. I am so thankful for him and all that he does for me and our baby girl. It will be a wonderful time to celebrate our first baby and spend time with a few friends here on base/in the local area. Even though it didn't work out due to distance and timing, I am so thankful for the out-of-state family members who offered to throw us a baby shower.
